Your Fashion Guide to Monsoon 2021

Settle into a comfy chair with a good book and some chai, and watch the pitter-patter of the raindrops against your window for the monsoon season is almost upon us and we want you to enjoy it in style! So, keep reading if you are looking for tips to ace your monsoon fashion game this season!

1. Try Colour Blocking:

The sky is often dark and grey during this season, which is a downer for many. But this monsoon, you can shine bright against the dull sky! Don bright shades with darks for contrast, and you’ll surely stand out!

Pssst... Here are some colour schemes that are must-haves:

  1. Green and Pink

  2. Red and Fuchsia

  3. Orange and Purple/Navy Blue

  4. Blue and Yellow

2. Ditch Those Tight-Fitting Jeans:

Jeans and other tight-fitted clothing can make you uncomfortable because of all the humidity. Instead, choose to wear bell-bottoms and palazzos or culottes and flare pants. Or why not just bicycle shorts? These will allow you to feel comfortable and finally breathe! Find that short skirt you pushed to the back of your closet as they are back in style. Let the breeze sweep you away but be careful, for a Marilyn Monroe moment is always around the corner!

3. Tops:

Now that we know which bottoms you are going to wear, let's discuss the tops. Ruffled shirts are back and are a chic option. Alternatively, you can turn to the fan-favourite crop tops. If wearing tops isn’t your thing, look stunning in a tie-waist shirt dress or even a short kurta!

4. Fabrics And Prints:

This season, forget the heavy fabrics and choose lighter ones like cotton and georgette. They will be kind to your skin and provide an escape from the humidity. Pair these fabrics with floral prints. For those looking to pick an outfit for a day you feel like channelling your desi vibes, choose leheriya and bandhani. These prints are pleasing to the eye, and you’ll feel like an ethnic goddess!

5. Throw On Some Scarves And Raincoats:

Who said you couldn’t wear fashionable raincoats? Pick neons, for they will allow you to stand out in any crowd. Still, feeling a little chilly? Wear a scarf, just for protection. Contrast is your mantra! Pair brightly coloured scarfs with monochrome outfits.

Finally, and most importantly, enjoy whatever you choose to wear. Remember, your clothes don’t define you. Your confidence and your bright smile are all that matter!
