Thor: Love and Thunder

The fourth phase of Marvel commenced after the tear-inducing finale, Avengers: Endgame where we bid farewell to the heroes who started it all. Marvel’s fourth phase includes plotlines from both TV shows and movies. The timeline so far:

Wanda Vision

It started with Elizabeth Olsen’s portrayal of Wanda Maximoff in the show, Wanda Vision showing us how the Scarlett Witch manages to create her reality.

Falcon and the winter soldier

After Captain America put down his shield, Bucky and the Falcon are posed with a dilemma as to what they’re supposed to do.

Loki

Tom Hiddleston has portrayed the God of Mischief since 2011 when he made his debut in Thor 1. Loki was killed by Thanos in Infinity war but since the concept of time travel was involved it left room for the reprisal of his role.

Black Widow

This movie is set just after Captain America: Civil war. The movie shows us the origins of Natasha Romanoff and also introduces us to her sister Yelena, portrayed by Florence Pugh who will be a major character in the fourth phase.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shaun AKA Shang Chi has to confront his past when he encounters members of the ten rings organization. The Ten Rings have been one of the MCU's recurring threats, a shadowy group of terrorists who covet advanced technology.

Eternals

The Eternals, a race of immortal aliens with superhuman powers who have secretly lived on Earth for thousands of years, reunite to battle the evil Deviants. The post-credit scene was Harry Styles’ debut in the MCU, and it was revealed that he would be portraying Thanos’ brother, Eros.

Hawkeye

The series is a sequel to Avengers: Endgame and Black Widow. Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop who is portrayed by Hailee Steinfeld. She is a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Superhero. The two are compelled to work together when someone from Clint’s past poses a threat.

Moon Knight

Oscar Isaac is also known for his role in the new Star Wars trilogy, he is the star of the show and plays the role of Steven Grant whom the show revolves around. He is a gift shop employee who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has an identity disorder and shares a body with a mercenary known as Marc Spector. Steven soon discovers he has the powers of an Egyptian Moon God. His powers prove to be a blessing and simultaneously a curse.

Spider-Man: No way home

This movie made history in all sorts of ways. The film united all three Spider-Men of all three eras and subsequently the fans of all ages. The film confirmed that the multiverse is real and thus multiplied all theories.

Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness

The movie is set to launch in May and fans can only expect one thing, complete madness. This is the second installment of the Doctor Strange series starring Benedict Cumberbatch. There are all sorts of bizarre rumors flying around the place. Some fans believe that Tom Cruise will portray a variant of Iron Man. Sam Raimi directed the film and brought Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man to the silver screens.

Thor: Love and Thunder

Taika Waititi’s direction of Thor: Ragnarok was highly appreciated since unlike the first two installments the movie had a bigger element of comedy thrown into the mix.

One thing the fans noticed is that Waititi always picks the best songs for his movies. Led Zeppelin’s ‘Immigrant song’ was featured in Thor: Ragnarok and this time he chose the iconic song by Guns N’ Roses, ‘Sweet Child o’ Mine.’ Disney allegedly paid close to 5 million for the usage of ‘Immigrant song.’

After Endgame the God of Thunder, Thor has joined forces with the Guardians of the galaxy who are still incomplete without Gamora, the adopted daughter of Thanos. Peter Quill AKA Starlord is still looking for Gamora through the depts of the galaxy.

There’s a lot to unpack from the trailer. Thor is on a quest for self-discovery and buries his weapon, Stormbreaker, and walks away. This was the weapon the Mad Titan, Thanos was slain with. Thor now travels the universe with the guardians and has also returned to his original muscular physique. On Earth, New Asgard seems to be thriving and is in the hands of Tessa Thompson’s character, Valkyrie who looks rather disinterested in the functioning of the government.

The last still of the trailer is what has fans excited. Jane Foster is the new Goddess of Thunder. Natalie Portman portrayed the astronomer in Thor 1 and 2. She is reprising her role in this movie but is she the Jane that Thor encountered on Earth or is she from the multiverse?
