Actor Megan Fox recently took to her Instagram handle and announced her engagement with boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly. Fox shared the news on Instagram by posting a video of Kelly going down on one knee under the same banyan tree that they sat in July 2020 and wished for magic. The proposal happened on 11th January in Puerto Rico, the same place these actors fell in love. Megan concluded her Instagram post by saying that they drank each other’s blood. She showed off the two rings he gave her and revealed the set was designed with jeweller Stephen Webster to contain both of their birthstones.

The rings ‘toi et moi’ style symbolises two souls becoming one. The style has also been spotted in other celebrities like Ariana Grande. MGK shared that the engagement ring includes a diamond and an emerald in honour of their respective birthstones.
“I know the tradition is one ring, but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (Megan’s birthstone) and the diamond (Kelly’s birthstone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love,” Kelly added. The jewellery designer added that Kelly fed him lots of material in an almost lyrical form, which inspired the dual gem design. He told Vogue that it was “possibly the most romantic story he had to work with.” The ring has been created in 18-karat white gold, pave set with colourless natural diamonds. The diamond is a D colour antique cut and the teardrop emerald, is an extraordinary completely untreated Columbian gem. This magnificent ring cost the actor between the US $300,000 to the US $400,000.

In a recent Vogue interview, MGK shared some more details about the ring. ‘The concept of the ring is that it can come apart to make two rings’ the 31-year-old explained. “When it’s together, it’s held in place by a magnet. And then it forms an obscure heart and the bands are actually thorns so if she tries to take it off it hurts.”
We knew love can be painful, but this gives the phrase so many more meanings! I’m 100% sure this wouldn’t be my choice for a ring. What about yours? Well, congratulations to the happy couple!
